Sonnet 2

There is no never-ending drink nor smoke
  1
Nor ever-lasting lip for either either;
Lilies wilt and lovers' vows are broke
As lovers light on legs a little lither.

Sleep, while sleep has dreams, 'll wake and quit
  5
'Til sleep is all; all song-bird song 'll cease;
Cook'd dinner-goose 'll rot 'r else't 's bit
Then swallow'd, then its scent 'll stop to please.

Yet some things stay for lengthy, happy whiles
  9
Whilst yet the doomèd senses still detect,
And roasted geese give starvèd stomachs smiles
But heavy-stuffèd ones take less effect:

So though all Earth is barr'ling tow'rd its Sun,
  13
Know many meals may cloy before being done!
