Mother Goose

Twice I made that big bell ring—
  1
My hammer swung the tongue (dong! ding!)
And two huge goose-eggs I received.
Of certain chores I'd be reprieved
But broadly it's much joy believed.

Two fests per annum, treasur'd smirks,
  6
And– best of all bounteous perks–
The gander's consort roosts her nest!
One patch of worry thus takes rest.
Feel blest to plug at her behest!
